McCormick filed a lawsuit against the Bucks County Board of Elections over about 400 undated mail ballots that had already been counted on Thursday, Nov. 14, according to a Casey Campaign news release.
The Republican candidate, who the Associated Press has already called as the winner, previously filed lawsuits in Philadelphia challenging about 20,000 provisional ballots, previous Daily Voice reporting states.
On the same date that the lawsuit was filed, both campaigns challenged the validity of some of the 3,100 provisional ballots cast in Berks County, according to a WFMZ News report. The Casey campaign also challenged some absentee and mail-in ballots over stray markings and incorrect dates.
The lawsuits and challenges are stacking as the hotly contested race continues to a legally mandated recount, Daily Voice reported previously.
Counties have to complete their ballot counts and begin the recount no later than Wednesday, Nov. 20, with recount results due to the Department of State by noon on Nov. 27, Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt announced on Wednesday, Nov. 13. The results of the recount will be published online on by the Department of State on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
For the current count, the unofficial totals reported by Pennsylvania's 67 counties show Casey with 3,361,742 votes (48.54%) and McCormick with 3,385,908 votes (48.89%) as of Friday, Nov. 15, according to the Department of State website.
